With most of the Telco’s unlimited calls postpaid plans costing upwards of RM50, it seems that Digi had just swung into action by offering the cheapest unlimited call plan via its InternetPlus Prepaid addon.

Priced at RM38 and RM48 for 4GB and 5GB of internet respectively, these two add-ons for Digi Prepaid plans are valid for 30 days and offers unlimited calls to all networks!

Digi had just updated its MyDigi app, giving subscribers improved account control, and better access to Digi’s services, as well as offering exciting rewards for digital-savvy customers. It is all part of Digi’s larger customer journey strategy, to progressively digitize their business from retail to network.

DiGi recently formed a partnership with Tink Labs Limited to bring to Malaysia, a mobile travel solution, called “handy”. So, what is, handy? It is a complete hospitality solution, that essentially, thru the use of a dedicated smartphone (which is provided as a free amenity in partnering hotels to guests), allows remote access to hotel services, localised city guides and travel facilities.

Today, Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) hosted its first Digital Day. This full-day event's purpose is set to dedicate a day of exploring existing and new digital technologies transforming the lives of many. Under the theme "Experience Tomorrow, Today", over 1700 Digizens and partners came to check out the technology showcase and seminar talks with innovators about what will the future bring.

It seems like Digi have more surprises in store than we had expected. If you are a student, or maybe you are planning to get a postpaid line for your kid, this one offer from Digi doesn't sound too bad. For RM38/month you are getting a 3GB internet quota, free 100 minutes calls to all networks, free 100 SMS to all networks, and no extra charges after you hit your Internet quota. The only requirement is a valid student card, and of course, make sure you are not in any telco blacklist too. This promotion will only last for 12 months and after that, it will revert to the original RM48/month.

Tomorrow Digi will announce their new promotion, Digi Video Freedom where you can stream video from YouTube, iflix, Astro on the Go, Viu, tonton, Dailymotion and HyppTV without using your current data plan quota. Digi Video Freedom is perfect for those who need to stream videos for their daily commute, or watch TV drama without touching their original limited quota balance.

Digi recently gave their Quarterly Network Update presentation on their upcoming plans in the future. One of the key points they pointed out was an improved expansion of their 4G LTE network coverage, as it has increased to 60% of the population coverage. This is the result of their engineers, busy expanding Digi's 4G LTE network for the past few months in 80 major cities and towns (key market centres 95% population coverage). They have also switched its 4G LTE-Advanced (4G LTE-A) network nationwide with a 22% coverage footprint (50% population coverage in key market centres).

Well, Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) has a solution for you, they will be improving their MyDigi app by adding more features to benefit their customers; allowing them to have total control of their Digi accounts.

The MyDigi app offers a 24/7, quick and easy way to access and manage account settings. One of the key features  includes real-time usage and bill statements, option of buying internet top-up, monitor billing history, linking multiple accounts and perhaps the best of all, paying your bills through it.

Maxis has made a surprise move by inviting both Digi and Celcom to have a discussion on setting the industry standards for 4G LTE. 23 November 2015 will be the date and Maxis hopes that the three telco giants can have a meaningful meeting to allow them to determine how to measure coverage in various territories. Maxis also claims they only want to provide what’s best for their customers and “have a fair basis for choosing”.
