    Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo has revealed that the Government is targeting the digital economy to contribute 25.5 per cent to Malaysia’s GDP by the end of next year. Currently, the digital economy makes up 23 per cent of our GDP.

The 2 programmes are “Data untuk Rakyat” and “Cyber Security untuk Rakyat”.

  • The Digital Ministry today announced that the ‘AI untuk Rakyat’ programme has reached a historic milestone, whereby over 1 million Malaysians have completed the transformative self-learning online initiative in less than 6 months after its launch. Achieving the milestone in record time, Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo said that the programme has surpassed its initial goal of reaching 1 million within 1 year.

  • Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has revealed that he will hold meetings with TikTok after Chinese New Year to discuss the issue of children’s safety online. Furthermore, his Ministry alongside the de-facto Law Ministry and Digital Ministry is also planning to implement a technical committee involving the matter as well as other online security issues.
