  • Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo today revealed more details about Malaysia’s upcoming second 5G network. Speaking during the launch of the TNG eWalle e-Mas, Gobind said that telcos for the 2nd network will be selected by the end of 2024.

  • Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territory) Dr Zaliha Mustafa has revealed that the Cyber Security Bill 2024 will only be gazetted in Q3 of 2024.     Gobind: Government targets digital economy to contribute 25.5% to GDP next year

    Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo has revealed that the Government is targeting the digital economy to contribute 25.5 per cent to Malaysia’s GDP by the end of next year. Currently, the digital economy makes up 23 per cent of our GDP.

  • Fresh from revealing the success of the “AI untuk Rakyat” initiative, Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo today announced that 2 other programmes will be introduced to equip Malaysians with in-depth knowledge and understanding of digital technology. The 2 programmes are “Data untuk Rakyat” and “Cyber Security untuk Rakyat”.

  • The Digital Ministry today announced that the ‘AI untuk Rakyat’ programme has reached a historic milestone, whereby over 1 million Malaysians have completed the transformative self-learning online initiative in less than 6 months after its launch. Achieving the milestone in record time, Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo said that the programme has surpassed its initial goal of reaching 1 million within 1 year.

  • The Digital Ministry announced that the 5G network coverage in Malaysia is now at 85 per cent, in line with the government’s goal to advance the country’s digital aspect. For reference, this is a 5 per cent increase compared to last month.
