    Red Bull Malaysia to host Red Bull Coliseum Season 2 in Malaysia with a prize pool of RM100,000

    Today, Red Bull Coliseum (RBC) has just been announced for a second season comprising DotA 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, FIFA' 17, along with two additional titles such the popular Overwatch from Blizzard Entertainment, and FIFA Online 3. The prize pool the tournament has been increased to RM100,000 as well, opening up to five countries which are Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, and Thailand.

    The weekend saw the Mountain Dew ‘Dew Challenge 2016’ gave away cash prizes amounting over RM100,000 ringgit for the two gaming events that was held at Berjaya Times Square – DoTA 2 challenge and the Mobile Gaming Challenge. The grand finals for the two events were held in Kuala Lumpur, where the champions were crowned in front of an excited crowd.

Throughout the week (12 - 18 September 2016), teams from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau will battle it out in the Group Stage, the games chosen for the event is Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) and DotA 2; and both games will be broadcast live globally online.

    If you think ASUS ROG's Champions Cup would be the last eSports scene we see in Malaysia, well don't fret, it's not the end yet because there's another tournament coming soon in January 2017. In an effort to help develop the Malaysian video games industry, Resorts World Genting has announced their collaboration with ESL to hold the first ever ESL One tournament in Resorts World Genting. Titled ESL One Genting, the event will be held at the Arena of Stars from 6 -8 January 2017 with the world's best top 8 Dota 2 teams against each other, with the championship prize on the line worth RM1000000.
