This week, BYD has made a new breakthrough technology for electric vehicles (EVs). For the first time ever, the EV company has announced a new "super e-platform" that will be capable of fast-charging an EV with speeds of 1,000 kW.

Smartphone brands have been pushing charging speeds in recent years. Last year, we even saw the launch of the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition, which could charge at 210W! This phone never came to Malaysia, but we might get a chance with the next 210W Redmi phone.

Infinix have announced their new wired 260W All-Round FastCharge tech which can charge a phone to 25% in 1 minute and 100% in 7.5 minutes. Their 110W Wireless All-Round FastCharge tech on the other hand, can charge wirelessly to 100% in just 16 minutes.

According to this new report, the chip actually allows a 4,000mAh battery to get fully charged in just 8 minutes.

Up until now, Samsung has always been releasing a 25W charger adapter. It may not be as fast as others that are up to 120W, but 25W is already quite fast for charging a phone. However, recent documentation from Demko (a Danish organisation) showed that Samsung may upgrade to a 65W fast charging adapter.
