Windows 11's File Explorer is finally getting a redesign with tab system

Earlier this year, Microsoft was spotted testing tabs for File Explorer on Windows 11. It turns out that the company has decided to roll out the feature soon, giving us a modernized version of the file managing app.

  • Recently, we reported that Microsoft is potentially planning to put ads in Windows 11 File Explorer based on a screenshot shared by one of the OS’ build testers. Now, Microsoft has come out to address the matter, saying that the ads feature is merely an experimental banner.

Furthermore, the tech giant also said that the banner was never intended for external publication and has since been turned off in the latest Windows 11 test build. This is according a statement from Windows senior programme designer, Brandon LeBlanc that was sent to US-based tech portal The Verge.
