Maybank has announced an update to the contactless transaction process for all Maybank Cards used with Google Pay, effective 27 January 2026. So, what should you know about it?

Today, Google announced the integration of ShopeePay and TNG eWallet (an Alipay+ Partner) with Google Pay in Malaysia. With this, it marks Google Pay's first eWallet integrations in Southeast Asia, which will enable Android users in Malaysia to check out seamlessly with selected online merchants.

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has announced that its ticket purchasing system will go fully cashless starting 1 January 2025. These include Klang Valley, northern, southern and east coast sectors.

After waiting for a long time, now it seems that Maybank has added support for Google Pay, allowing users of Android devices with NFC support to add Maybank cards to Google Wallet , and use them in payments at terminals in stores.

AmBank has announced that its credit cards in Malaysia can now be linked with Google Wallet. As such makes it the 5th bank to support Google Wallet in our country after CIMB, Hong Leong, HSBC and Standard Chartered.

Today, Wise has announced that its platform has launched Apple Pay and Google Pay for every Malaysian cardholder. As the first non-bank in Malaysia to offer it, Malaysian customers can now make contactless transactions by adding the Wise card to their iPhone or Android devices. 

iPay88 has announced that they have become one of the 60+ partners to support Google Pay and they are planning to introduce the payment system to various e-commerce platforms in Malaysia such as Shopee, Lazada, 11street, and more.
