Rumours: All New HTC One (HTC One 2) pictured in gold

And the HTC One 2 names continue to grow. Up until this point rumours indicate that the successor to the HTC One (currently codenamed the HTC M8) could be called the HTC One 2, HTC One+, HTC One 2014 and now the "All New HTC One", except this name also comes with a press photo quality image of the upcoming smartphone in champagne gold. With both the new name and image coming from serial leaker @evleaks, it seems almost inevitable that this will be how it will look like as he is usually accurate about these things. Tech specs  and features for the "All New HTC One" include two cameras with dual-LED flash for one of them along with dual speakers and only onscreen controls. HTC has confirmed that the next flagship device would be revealed on 25 March 2014.

Next HTC flagship smartphone confirmed for 25 March 2014

It seems to be a trend that big brands are confirming rumours as HTC has officially confirmed that their next flagship device will be revealed on 25 March 2014. So far, all indications point towards the HTC M8, or more commonly known as the HTC One 2 or One+. HTC have yet to come up with a name, but tech specs are estimated to include a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, dual rear cameras with two tone LED flash and a 5-inch full HD display. No news yet on Malaysia pricing or release dates but with the reveal date set to 25 March 2014 it shouldn't take too long to wait.

  • Rumours: Dual-camera HTC M8 (HTC One 2) image leaked

Rumours: Dual-camera HTC M8 (HTC One 2) image leaked

A newly leaked photo of the HTC M8 gives a better view of the supposedly dual-camera and dual-LED flash setup that the HTC One 2 smartphone is said to be using. The image comes courtesy of nowhereelse, the french tech blog who often get the latest and most accurate of leaks. Previously, dual-camera sensors were only used in 3D cameraphones, with this trend quickly dying out. However, the placement of the second camera above the main camera sensor placed next to the dual LED flash seem to coincide with earlier rumours that one camera would be for low-light conditions and the other would be for normal conditions. No news on any Malaysia release dates or pricing but we're thinking that it could come up at the MWC expo 2014 at the end of this month. Stay tuned and we'll keep you updated.

  • Rumours: HTC One mini 2 (HTC M8 compact) tech specs leaked

Rumours: HTC One mini 2 (HTC M8 compact) tech specs leaked

While the HTC M8 or next version of the HTC One has been making the rounds on the rumour mill, it appears that HTC may also come out with a HTC One mini 2 version as well. This comes courtesy of @evleaks who has offered up tech specs for the upcoming compact version of the HTC M8. These tech specs include a 4.5-inch display with 720p pixel resolution, a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage + microSD, a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. The major differences with the original HTC One mini are the larger display, processor and cameras with microSD support but do take this with a pinch of salt as it seems rather unlikely that HTC is going to come out with a 13MP UltraPixel camera anytime soon. We'd love to be wrong in this, but it is wiser to be wary when it comes to rumours like this.

  • Rumours: HTC M8 Sense 6.0 UI leaked, shows on-screen keys

Rumours: HTC M8 Sense 6.0 UI leaked, shows on-screen keys

More signs that the HTC M8 (HTC One 2 or HTC One+) is coming are appearing with the latest being a screenshot of the user interface on the upcoming smartphone. Coming courtesy of @evleaks, the screenshot is supposed to be the new Sense 6.0 running on Android 4.4 KitKat. One of the major differences is the row of on-screen buttons right below all those Livetile-like widgets. So far, tech specs for the HTC M8 are still unconfirmed but we're expecting at least a quad-core Snapdragon processor (hopefully an 800 at least), a larger 5-inch 1080 x 1920 pixel display, a dual-sensor 5MP UltraPixel camera and 2GB of RAM. While there aren't any specific Malaysia release dates, the HTC M8 or One+ is expected in March in New York. Still no news on pricing but stay tuned and we'll keep you posted.

  • Rumours: More HTC M8 (HTC One 2) pictures leak

Rumours: More HTC M8 (HTC One 2) pictures leak

Right after the previous supposedly leaked images of the HTC M8 (which is widely believed to be the next version of the HTC One) were called fakes by Marc Moons, Director of HTC Benelux, a couple of new HTC M8 images have popped up. These new pictures are from Russia and offer a number of tech specs as well. These HTC M8 tech specs include a Snapdragon 800 processor, 5-inch screen with full HD 1080p resolution, 2GB RAM, dual-sensor 5MP Ultrapixel rear camera and Android 4.4.2. Check out the pictures for yourself, but these new pics could just as likely be some more creatively photoshopped fakes and get a debunking tomorrow, so take them with a good pinch of salt first.

  • Rumours: HTC One+ (HTC One 2) keeping 4MP UltraPixel camera?

Rumours: HTC One+ (HTC One 2) keeping 4MP UltraPixel camera?

At a time when most flagship smartphones pack cameras larger than 8MP, the 4MP UltraPixel camera on the HTC One seems like something that shouldn't be there. Granted, it may have started the trend for specialized low-light condition cameras on smartphones but overall, it didn't deliver as well as the 8MP, 13MP, 20MP or even 41MP cameraphones out there. Unfortunately, it seems like the next version of the HTC One, which may be called the HTC One+ or HTC One 2 will likely keep the same 4MP UltraPixel camera. Other tech specs and features are rumoured to get upgraded including a Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB / 3GB RAM and a 5-inch full HD display. Other rumours say that there will be 2 cameras, with one being the 4MP UltraPixel camera for low-light and another higher megapixel camera for normal conditions. No exact news on Malaysia release dates or pricing but rumours indicate that it could be coming at the MWC Expo on 24 February 2014. As always take this rumour with a grain of salt at least until HTC makes an official announcement. Stay tuned and we'll keep you updated of this.
