Confirming previous rumours about the mini version of the HTC One (M8), HTC have officially announced the HTC One Mini 2. Featuring the same brushed metal look as the larger version, the mini offers a 4.5-inch display with 720p pixel resolution making it slightly larger than the previous HTC One Mini. The most notable feature difference here though, is that there is no Duo camera, but HTC have opted for a conventional 13MP BSI camera sensor instead of the usual UltraPixel camera. Other tech specs include a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage, up to 128GB microSD support, 5MP front camera, GPS, NFC, 4G LTE and a 2100 mAh battery. No news on Malaysia pricing or specific Malaysia release dates yet but the HTC One Mini 2 is expected to be launched in North Asia by June 2014. The smartphone will come in the standard Amber Gold, Glacial Silver and Gunmetal Gray colours.

While the HTC M8 or next version of the HTC One has been making the rounds on the rumour mill, it appears that HTC may also come out with a HTC One mini 2 version as well. This comes courtesy of @evleaks who has offered up tech specs for the upcoming compact version of the HTC M8. These tech specs include a 4.5-inch display with 720p pixel resolution, a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage + microSD, a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. The major differences with the original HTC One mini are the larger display, processor and cameras with microSD support but do take this with a pinch of salt as it seems rather unlikely that HTC is going to come out with a 13MP UltraPixel camera anytime soon. We'd love to be wrong in this, but it is wiser to be wary when it comes to rumours like this.

On top of the gold coloured HTC One, DiGi looks to be completing the set with the HTC One Mini and HTC One Max, both of which are on zero contract. The HTC One Mini is available from RM1430, a bit lower than it's retail price of RM1599 while the HTC One Max is available from RM2225, again a bit lower than it's retail price of RM2499. The zero contract means that you can terminate the plan at any time but to qualify for the lower price, you will have to signe up for the SmartPlan 58, SmartPlan 88 or SmartPlan 148 postpaid plans. Users can expect rebates of RM10  a month for the SmartPlan 58, RM20 a month for the SmartPlan 88 and RM33 a month for the SmartPlan 148 for the first 24 months. The HTC One Max is the much larger brother of the award-winning HTC One smartphone, which was one of the first Android smartphones to pull off an awesome looking metallic body design. When the HTC One first came out, it was simply awesome and got very good reviews from practically everyone in the tech industry. Now, the HTC One Max offers you the same HTC One-like design in a larger 5.9-inch display phablet form factor but at a much higher retail price of RM2499. The rumoured HTC One Max phablet or the bigger brother of the HTC One has recently been pictured side by side with it's siblings, the HTC One and HTC One Mini with a fingerprint scanner. Now, asides from being a security feature many people are saying such a feature could add more functions like a secure e-wallet transaction identification system or perhaps as an alternative scroll button. While this could be another clever render it could also be a different version altogether as there could be versions with or without the fingerprint scanner. Tech specs for the HTC One Max remain the same with a 5.9-inch Full HD 1080p display and Snapdragon 800 processor though but no exact news just yet on pricing or availability. However, some are expecting the HTC One Max to appear in September or October of 2013.

After months of leaks and teasers HTC have finally announced the HTC One Mini. Featuring the same design in a smaller form factor, the smartphone offers some interesting features at a (hopefully) more affordable price. Some of these features and tech specs include:

Perhaps looking to capitalize on the HTC One's success, HTC have been rumoured to be looking into releasing a Windows Phone powered HTC One. According to tipsters, this new Windows Phone HTC One won't be exactly the same as the original HTC One with a screen between 4 and 5 inches.

This version could take the way of the upcoming HTC One Mini which retains the metal chassis, UltraPixel camera and front-facing Beats Audio speakers. We feel that since most Windows Phone smartphones seem to be packing dual-SIM capabilities it would be a good idea for HTC to just take the China-only version instead (which comes with dual-SIM and a removable battery). No news on when exactly it would be available but it is expected in Q3 of 2013 before the holidays and it should also pack in Microsoft's latest Windows Phone 8.1 mobile operating system as well.

HTC has recently published a UA Prof File confirming the HTC One Mini. For those who don't know, a UA Prof file or User Agent Profile is a specification file that lists the model, screen size and other details before the device gets officially announced. UA Prof files are not required but they are usually done by the manufacturer. Since HTC released it, it is as official a confirmation as possible.

Other details mentioned in the HTC One Mini's UA Prof file is that it will have a 720 x 1280 pixel display. This coincides with other tech specs that include:

The HTC One Mini or M4 has appeared again. Placed side by side with the original HTC One, this time with the same colour, it looks like it will maintain the same aluminum unibody chassis but go for a much smaller build. While the chassis remains the same it looks like there will be a white ring of plastic, perhaps to increase durability and reduce weight.

Following what Samsung is doing with their Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC reportedly are making a smaller, less expensive version of their flagship HTC One smartphone. Going by the codename HTC M4 or eventually the HTC One Mini, it will likely maintain the same UltraPixel camera but lower other specs like perhaps the screen size, processor and other features. Recently, a number of leaked images of the HTC One Mini have been spotted online placed side by side with the original HTC One.
