With the recent HTC One (M8) officially launched in Malaysia, DiGi is coming out with postpaid bundles for the smartphone starting from RM1299, which is pretty good considering the retail price of RM2399. To qualify, you will have to subscribe for a SmartPlan 78, 108 or 148 under a 24-month contract. Loyal DiGi customers who have been using DiGi for more than 12 months will be rewarded by not having to pay the advanced payment. Unfortunately, there won't be any gold coloured model for those gold lovers as the HTC One (M8) from DiGi is only available in Glacial silver and Gunmetal Grey. With the official announcement of the HTC One (M8) already done with, rumours are moving on to the mini version with many saying that the smaller version will be named the HTC One mini 2. Serial leaker @evleaks has chimed in with some renders of the HTC one mini 2 in gold, grey and silver along with the apparent lack of a Duo camera (the dual-camera in the HTC One M8). Other tech specs and features for the HTC One mini 2 include a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage, 4.5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, 13MP rear camera, Android 4.4 KitKat and Sense 6.0. No specific news on Malaysia release dates or pricing but we expect this one soon, or at least around or after May 2014.

Another flagship smartphone, another gold-plated or rare metal version from Goldgenie. This time around, the luxury company is offering the HTC One (M8) for a choice of either 24K gold, platinum or rose gold complete with the usual premium looking Cherry Oak box. The 24K plating HTC One (M8) comes in at $2560.95 (RM8363). Quite obviously, there isn't any Malaysia release date or local pricing for any of these versions, but if you have the money to get one of these precious metal plated HTC One (M8) smartphones then you certainly shouldn't have to worry about shipping one of these ultra luxury items. Tech specs and features for any of these versions should not differ from the original but you should expect them to be a lot heavier.

The latest version of the HTC One (M8) may well be the one device that saves HTC completely, however, it appears that it may be too little too late for users in Malaysia. With the Samsung Galaxy S5 set for a 27 March 2014 launch tomorrow, HTC Malaysia are still unsure as to when we'll see the new HTC One (M8) here. While the HTC One (M8) was available nearly instantly over in the US and UK, HTC Malaysia say that we should expect the HTC One (M8) by the end of April 2014. They also went on to say that the HTC One (M8) would be available for all major telcos. While it could be another late entry, we're thinking that HTC Malaysia could do much with a couple HTC One (M8) smartphones and some persuasive campers placed strategically nearby the Galaxy S5 launching areas (HTC did this for the original HTC One). Still no specific Malaysia release dates just yet but stay tuned and we'll keep you posted.

Goophone has a tendency to create nearly identical copies of leading smartphones and this time around is no different as they officially announce their Goophone M8. Now, what other smartphone has 'M8' in it's name? Right, the HTC M8 or the still unofficially named All New HTC One. While the smartphone it is copying still hasn't been launched yet, the GooPhone M8 looks nearly identical to the original aluminum unibody design. It may not have key features like the dual-camera dual-LED flash on the backside but it does look nearly identical at a single glance. You can also get it in gold too. Tech specs for the Goophone M8 aren't bad at all with a 1.7GHz octa-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage + microSD, 5-inch 1920 x 1080 pixel display, 12.6MP rear camera with LED flash, 5MP front camera and 3G connectivity. At just $230 (RM750) this phone is for those midrange users who like the All New HTC One design but not anything else. Check out the Goophone M8 site for more information.

HTC proved their design chops with the HTC One and have finally come out with something fresh with the announcement of the HTC Desire 816 and HTC Desire 610 smartphones. Targeting the midrange both smartphones offer a very nice looking design with less common colours than most smartphones. True, the two smartphones do come in black and white still but their front dual speakers and super slim bezels help them stand out from all the rest. Tech specs for the HTC Desire 816 and 610 can be seen below:
- HTC Desire 816
- 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor
- 1.5GB RAM
- 8GB storage + microSD
- 5.5-inch display (720p)
- 13MP rear camera (LED flash) + 5MP front camera
- Supports 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, dual speakers
- 7.99mm thin | 165g
- 2600 mAh battery

And the HTC One 2 names continue to grow. Up until this point rumours indicate that the successor to the HTC One (currently codenamed the HTC M8) could be called the HTC One 2, HTC One+, HTC One 2014 and now the "All New HTC One", except this name also comes with a press photo quality image of the upcoming smartphone in champagne gold. With both the new name and image coming from serial leaker @evleaks, it seems almost inevitable that this will be how it will look like as he is usually accurate about these things. Tech specs and features for the "All New HTC One" include two cameras with dual-LED flash for one of them along with dual speakers and only onscreen controls. HTC has confirmed that the next flagship device would be revealed on 25 March 2014.

A newly leaked photo of the HTC M8 gives a better view of the supposedly dual-camera and dual-LED flash setup that the HTC One 2 smartphone is said to be using. The image comes courtesy of nowhereelse, the french tech blog who often get the latest and most accurate of leaks. Previously, dual-camera sensors were only used in 3D cameraphones, with this trend quickly dying out. However, the placement of the second camera above the main camera sensor placed next to the dual LED flash seem to coincide with earlier rumours that one camera would be for low-light conditions and the other would be for normal conditions. No news on any Malaysia release dates or pricing but we're thinking that it could come up at the MWC expo 2014 at the end of this month. Stay tuned and we'll keep you updated.

While the HTC M8 or next version of the HTC One has been making the rounds on the rumour mill, it appears that HTC may also come out with a HTC One mini 2 version as well. This comes courtesy of @evleaks who has offered up tech specs for the upcoming compact version of the HTC M8. These tech specs include a 4.5-inch display with 720p pixel resolution, a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage + microSD, a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. The major differences with the original HTC One mini are the larger display, processor and cameras with microSD support but do take this with a pinch of salt as it seems rather unlikely that HTC is going to come out with a 13MP UltraPixel camera anytime soon. We'd love to be wrong in this, but it is wiser to be wary when it comes to rumours like this.
