Honor Malaysia opened their first concept store in Malaysia yesterday at Plaza Lowyat. The store will let you check out the Honor 8, Honor 5A, Honor 5C, Honor 5X, Honor 6 Plus, Honor 7, and the Honor 7 Enhanced first hand, with a promotion to get these devices plus free gifts up until 21 November 2016. Those who purchase an Honor smartphone can also enter a lucky draw to win the Honor Band Z1, Honor Band SS, Bluetooth Speaker and more.

Honor have made a number of value beating smartphones that while offering good performance and innovation on par with some flagships, many of their ‘flagships’ haven't always looked the part. Samsung also officially announced their Galaxy A8 (2016). Honor Malaysia have announced that the metal bodied Honor 7 and Honor 7 Enhanced will get a price cut of RM200 starting from 26 September 2016. This means the Honor 7 formerly priced at RM1399 will be priced from RM1199 while the Enhanced goes to RM1299 from RM1499. We expect prices at third-party sellers to decrease even more significantly so check out our review of the Honor 7 or our hands-on of the Honor 7 Enhanced for a closer look.

Just launched yesterday from RM1699, we managed to get some more hands-on time with the gold coloured Honor 8 and while our first impressions video is coming soon you can a closer look at this versions, see some more camera samples and check out the smart key function of the Honor 8.

Instead of having a separate smart key like on the Honor 7, the Honor 8 integrated it with the fingerprint sensor. The Honor 8 will be available tomorrow from VMALL.my and Lazada along with DirectD and SenHeng with a lot of freebies to go with it.

After its initial launch in China, the Honor 8 has since then been launched in the US and now in Paris for Europe. Featuring the dual rear camera with a colour sensor and monochrome sensor along with a 2.5D glass front and back, the Honor 8 was priced at €399 (RM1814) for the 4GB RAM / 32GB storage version and €499 (RM2269) for the 4GB RAM / 64GB storage version. Both will be available in September for Europe, but with the various launches happening, we can't help but wonder when Malaysia's turn will be.

There’s a whole bunch of metal midrange smartphones these days packing in a metal unibody, fingerprint sensor and more or less midrange tech specs and the vivo V3Max appears to be one of them. To be perfectly honest, I’m not particularly a fan of vivo smartphones, having already reviewed another metal Vivo, but this time around the V3Max pleasantly surprised me with it’s well polished design and flagship-level performance.
