Huawei conducted a pre-MWC 2019 briefing, introducing everyone to their latest 5G supported modem, the Balong 5000. To make things more interesting, the Balong 5000 5G modem will not only be the company’s first 5G device but it will also be implemented into the company’s first foldable smartphone.

The first one is the 5G multi-mode chipset Balong 5000 and the other, the Huawei 5G CPE Pro as the first commercial 5G device. Huawei is pretty much known by now to have one of the fastest SuperCharge technologies on the market. It is rumoured that the company is now working on a new type of 20W charger that uses half the amps of the SCP Gen. 2 uses. Today, Huawei Malaysia has announced that its very own official Android app, Huawei AppGallery can now accept bill payments from DiGi, Hotlink, Maxis, and U Mobile. This new partnership between the companies offers subscribers of the respective telcos the ability to purchase digital content conveniently for things such as buying in-game items and others via the Huawei AppGallery.
Aside from being able to purchase a wide range of in-app products from various games, customers can also purchase customized themes which can then be paid through their monthly phone bills online. According to the information from the company, it seems that only postpaid users of DiGi, Maxis and U Mobile can perform this, while only Hotlink prepaid users can pay using prepaid credit from topups.

Samsung has been gearing up to release its first smartphone with the Infinity-O display to claim the title of being the first in the world. However, their dreams may be dashed by Huawei with their upcoming Nova 4 smartphone as renders show an O cutout on the display of the device. Tech specs wise, the smartphone may be released with a Kirin 980 SoC which is a step up from the Nova 3 but other than that, no other info on the device is available yet.
