News & Reviews:   Huawei Mate 30

One of the most anticipated flagship devices of the year is the Huawei Mate series and despite the ominous cloud surrounding Huawei, that fact doesn’t seem to have changed. Leaked renders of the Huawei Mate 30 has surfaced online and instead of a square camera setup on the back is a circular one with quad cameras.

Recent news that Google has stopped access to certain services and updates for Huawei on US orders has sent any number of Malaysians into a frenzy. The first thing we have to say is, chill and keep calm, the stopped access only affects future updates to certain proprietary Google apps and the upcoming Android Q. If you’re a Huawei device user, you won’t lose access to GMail or YouTube today (we used Google Docs to type this with no issues). We'd recommend taking a chill pill for now and seeing what else Google details in their official statement and what Huawei has planned.

Now that the Huawei P30 hype is over and done with, we can now start talking about Huawei’s next flagship, the Huawei Mate 30. We’ve only heard during the P30 launch that the device is definitely in the works and now early leaks of the device has started to emerge and it sounds pretty impressive.

During their recent global analyst summit in Shenzhen, Huawei showed a slide teasing their first Huawei 5G mobile hotspot set for Q2 of 2019. They also revealed what could be their first 5G smartphone, which is presumed to be the Huawei Mate 30 in the second half of 2019 which also indicates when Malaysia and other countries could start seeing the full implementation of 5G networks.
