News & Reviews:   Huawei Matebook X Pro Malaysia launch

For those who missed the fact that the Huawei MateBook X Pro with Intel Core i7 processor is coming to Malaysia soon, here's a shout-out in that it will be available at the previously mentioned roadshows starting from the sales launch on 27 October 2018 from 9.00am but in limited quantities. While the MateBook X Pro and MateBook D were previously available for pre-order, the MateBook X Pro with Intel Core i7 processor was not included. In addition, the first early birds in the queue will get free Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) earbuds to go with the Dolby Atmos audio.

Huawei Malaysia has announced that pre-orders for the MateBook series consisting of the Huawei MateBook X Pro and MateBook D have sold out, with more MateBook X Pro laptops selling than the MateBook D. But fret not, for those who are still interested in getting some of the first Huawei Matebook laptops in Malaysia you can do so at the official sales launch roadshows happening at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Queensbay Mall Penang or at Aeon Mall Dato’ Onn in Johor Bahru from 27 October 2018.

Just in case you missed our news on the Huawei MateBook X Pro and MateBook D price announcement, the pre-order for the new notebooks have just started today starting from RM2999. For a limited time until 22 October 2018, customers who pre-order it will be getting awesome freebies that includes a Microsoft 365 Home, a Huawei Backpack, a Huawei Bluetooth Mouse and a Huawei Sleeve.

Today, Huawei Malaysia has announced that their Huawei MateBook X Pro and MateBook D Windows laptops will be coming to Malaysia from RM4999 (Intel Core i5-8250U processor) and RM2999 respectively. There is also another variant for the MateBook X Pro, which is the bigger sized one (Intel Core i7-8550U) that cost RM6999. All will be available in Malaysia from 27 October 2018.

So this came in, Huawei just released a news that its upcoming MateBook X Pro has a Recessed Camera feature and it's the world's first laptop to have such feature. What does this mean? It means that the webcam is actually hiding within the laptop and pops up when it's pressed. How cool is that?

As mentioned in our previous news, Huawei Malaysia will soon be introducing the MateBook X Pro into the Malaysia market and although the local price tag is not confirmed yet, initial estimates have it around RM4796 (not inclusive of tax) due to a direct conversion from its 7988 Yuan price tag in China. Besides the upcoming Huawei Mate 20 series, Huawei's own notebook is also coming quite soon and according to Huawei Malaysia, the MateBook X Pro will make its appearance this month and it features the world's first FullView touchscreen display.

Although the Huawei P20 series is a no-show at MWC 2018, Huawei still showed up nonetheless and revealed 2 new products which are the Matebook X Pro and the MediaPad M5, as well as Huawei's 5G customer-premises equipment (CPE). The Matebook X Pro is the world's first Fullview Display notebook while the new 5G CPE is the world's first commercial terminal device supporting the globally recognized 3GPP telecommunication standard for 5G.
