Based on a statement by a user on Reddit, it seems that Google might have blocked the sideloading of Google apps on Huawei smartphones via the Kirin processor detection. While not much is known in regards to why did Google do this, it seems that smartphones that are affected include the Huawei P30, P20, as well as the P40 due to “incompatible CPU/processor”.

Based on a bunch of images spotted on huaweicentral.com, it seems that the Huawei P40 series will get AI 50MP camera mode via firmware update which could improve the pictures taken by the smartphone. While not much is known in regards to when the aforementioned firmware update will be available in Malaysia, we do know that it is currently available in China for now.

Huawei Malaysia has officially announced that the Huawei P40 series has been unveiled starting from RM2799 for the P40, RM3899 for the P40 Pro variant, and RM4999 for the P40 Pro Plus variant. You can pre-order the Huawei P40 and the P40 Pro from 3 April until 10 April 2020, while the Pro Plus will be available somewhere in the near future.
