The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) has revealed that 203,123 individuals and companies have been barred from leaving the country as of 30 November. It added that travel restriction is the last action that can be imposed if the taxpayer still fails to pay the remaining outstanding tax (individuals and companies) after various reminders and notices have been issued.

The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) has announced that the government has agreed to give a 6-month grace period to taxpayers from the date of mandatory implementation of e-invoicing which starts on 1 August. Its CEO, Datuk Abu Tariq Jamaluddin said that the grace period is to ensure the smooth implementation of the system.

The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) has issued a reminder to taxpayers in the country to check their tax arrears and travel restriction status before planning any trips abroad. Furthermore, the LHDN also revealed the number of individuals in the country barred from travelling abroad due to tax-related issues.
