The components in smartphones are always improving and are all about bigger numbers these days. 108MP cameras first came out a few years back, followed by a 200MP sensor from last week. Now, Samsung plans to more than double the camera resolution by 2025.

Samsung will be launching a new camera sensor on 10 June. The Korean tech giant confirmed the news by posting a teaser on its Twitter account with the caption “ISOCELL for everyone. You deserve an awesome camera." Looking at it, the upcoming sensor might be made for lower-cost devices.

About a week ago, there was a rumour mentioning that Samsung would launch new ISOCELL camera sensors this year. While there's no real news on the rumoured 200MP sensor yet, Samsung did announce a new camera sensor yesterday - ISOCELL HM3.

Based on a statement by @UniverseIce on Twitter, it seems that Samsung could potentially be working on a 600MP camera sensor which will be equipped embedded in Samsung smartphones in the future. While not much is known in regards to the release window of the aforementioned sensor, it does give us a better idea on what to expect as soon as it is available in the global market.

Samsung has announced that they will be unveiling their 108MP ISOCELL image sensor, on the 12 August 2019. The new image sensor is capable of producing images up to 12032 x 9024 in resolution, which is substantially more compared to the current industry standard of 64MP sensor.
