In conjunction with Malaysia’s 68th Independence Day, the Merdeka Unlimited Travel Pass (MUTP) is now available for one month of unlimited journeys through the SMART Tunnel. From 16 August to 16 September 2025, this special-edition pass offers a seamless and exclusive route into KL city.

In anticipation of Malaysia's Merdeka Day Celebration on 31 August 2022, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Malaysia has announced that all flying drones are prohibited for the occasion on its social media page. The public is not advised to fly their drones without approval and for safety purposes.
