We won't lie to you, most Malaysians like to eat, ourselves included and looking to meet up and talk one on one with Malaysia's tech crowd today was Intel Malaysia and Singapore's new Country Manager, Sumner P. Lemon. On hand to meet and greet Malaysians at a casual makan-makan, we were able to ask him a few questions. According to him, the main thing that he will be focusing on in this new position is growth, particularly areas in the Malaysia tech industry which show signs of growth. This includes the mobile and smartphone industry without forgetting the PC and notebook computer markets. As such, we should be able to expect many new Intel powered smartphones and mobile devices in the remainder of 2014 and for 2015 laying to rest rumours that Intel would be less involved with mobile devices in 2015.

Intel Malaysia recently announced that it has appointed Sumner Lemon as the new Country Manager for both Intel Malaysia and Singapore. He will take on Intel’s sales and marketing activities in Malaysia and Singapore and drive strategic partnerships with the government and ecosystem partners in order to accelerate technology adoption in both countries. Lemon's background includes an MBA with honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business along with a BA in East Asian Studies from Colby College. He is an experienced tech journalist, covering the technology industry in China, Southeast Asia and Taiwan and is fluent in Mandarin with prior experience at Intel Hongkong. Here's what he had to say about his appointment:
“2014 has been a very exciting year for Intel in terms of innovation and product offerings and I am very excited at the prospect of working with the Malaysian and Singaporean teams to bring these solutions to market. It is a privilege to have been appointed to this position and I am ready to build on the firm foundations laid by my predecessor," Sumner Lemon, Country Manager for Intel Malaysia and Singapore.
