    OPPO filed a patent called “Wearable Electronics” on September 2018, which hints at the possibility that we could see a smartwatch manufactured by OPPO with the ability to fold its display. Once unfolded, the display would be more than two times larger than the original screen size when done properly.

This time around, both parties did another Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Maxis is to provide and deploy 5G network infrastructure and services in Gamuda Cove, which will eventually be the first 5G township when it's ready in the country.

    LG introduces the LG Smart ThinQ technology, which allows the user to connect to their LG home appliances via the internet. The user is able to perform actions such as control, as well as monitor their home appliances via the LG Smart ThinQ app which can be installed on their mobile smartphone. Not only that, but they have also introduced several new LG home appliances that are compatible with LG Smart ThinQ such as air conditioners, fridges, fan, washing machine, and more.

This means that IKEA's full range of smart lighting products will be connected to Xiaomi's IoT (Internet of Things) platform starting from December 2018 in China. No news when these will be available in Malaysia or for how much.

    Huawei announces LiteOS, a 10KB IoT operating system

    Huawei recently announced it's Agile Network 3.0 Architecture at the Huawei Network congress 2015. As part of this architecture, Huawei introduced the Agile Internet of Things (IoT) solution which consists of the Agile IoT gateway, Agile Controller and LiteOS which is a lightweight IoT operating system (OS). This LiteOS is only 10KB in size (1MB = 1000KB) and offers basic OS functions like configuration, auto-discovery and auto-networking. Designed for smart homes, wearables, connected vehicles and more, LiteOS will be be opened to all developers soon but there are no specific Malaysia release dates, pricing details or information on which devices may be using it.
