Iranian authorities have allowed WhatsApp and Google Play to be used in the country. Both apps were banned two years ago after they were used to organise anti-government demonstrations. The Supreme Council of Cyberspace voted to allow the apps to be used in what is seen as a move to ease some of the internet controls imposed on Iranians.
