In order to combat the dip in fertility rate, Japan has plans to allocate around 2 billion yen (~RM78k) to fund an AI tech to help matchmake individuals to increase the birth rate in the country. While there are already human-run matchmaking services available, the AI system could potentially increase the success of getting individuals matched.

Based on a statement by japantimes.co.jp, it seems that Panasonic recently developed a gadget that utilizes vacuum suction in order to pick up earbuds that were dropped onto railway tracks. The push for the development of such a gadget was due to the fact that there were around 950 cases of dropped earbuds between July and September of 2020, which has the potential to not only damage the railway tracks but also place patrons in danger if they were foolish enough to try and retrieve their earbuds.

It seems that the Business Breakthrough University in Tokyo, Japan has recently held a virtual graduation ceremony using a mobile robot called “Newme” as well as Zoom, a video conferencing tool which became really popular recently. This isn’t the first time someone hosted a virtual ceremony, as there were few occasions where ceremonies like this were held in games such as Animal Crossing: New Horizon and Minecraft.
