SNS Network initially released the JOI 8 Windows 8.1 tablet powered by an Intel processor last year but soon followed up with the larger keyboard equipped JOI 10 Flip. They have recently added more models to the JOI Tablet family with the 3G enabled JOI 8i and the more compact JOI 7 tablets. All of the tablets feature Intel Atom processors at below RM1K pricing, making it even easier for Malaysians to get their hands on an affordable computer device for both work and play. Other new additions to the range include the JOI Docking Station and other tablet variations. SNS Network continued their Joi series of tablets recently with the announcement of the Joi 7 for just RM299. This 7-inch display tablet is again powered by a 64-bit Intel Atom processor and Windows 8.1 but comes with a few changes in tech specs compared to the Joi 8, Joi 8i and Joi 10. This includes a 7-inch display with 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, a 2MP rear camera, VGA front camera and 2600 mAh battery. Some feaures remain the same like the 1GB RAM, 16GB storage, expandable microSD slot, mini HDMI port and MicroUSB port. You also get a free 1 year's subscription to Office 365 Personal (which also comes with a license for a PC or Mac as well) but we assume that some sellers may sell this separately to cut the price tag down further. The Joi 7 is a purely WiFi tablet with Bluetooth 4.0 support but there could be a 3G/4G LTE version like the recent Joi 8i. We also hope that build quality also follows the later Joi 8i as well but we'll only know more once a review unit comes our way. The Joi 7 is currently available at SNS Network outlets and their GLOO online store.

The full metal frame IPRO Livepad 8.9 tablet offers a combo deal with a free Bluetooth Keyboard case. Made exclusively for the 8.9-inch full HD display Livepad 8.9 tablet, the Bluetooth Keyboard case includes a full PVC case with a detachable Bluetooth Keyboard. The Keyboard comes with a full QWERTY keyboard set up and even has a built-in trackpad. While it is currently available with the tablet in a promotional deal for RM699 the keyboard case is priced separately at RM199 as well for when the promotional deal ends. The IPRO Livepad 8.9 tablet recently caught our eye with it's sleek flat and thin design, powerful tech specs and value-for-money price. Retailing at a promotional price of just RM699, the IPRO Livepad 8.9 features a 64-bit Intel processor, 2GB of RAM, 8.9-inch display with 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and more. Intel is looking to really help local Malaysian tech companies into the limelight by providing Intel tech and expertise for mobile devices. This includes local device maker iPro and we were recently able to get some hands-on time with their latest iPro Livepad 8.9 tablet. Powered by a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3735F processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and an 8000 mAh battery this surprisingly powerful tablet also sports  an 8.9-inch full HD (1920 x 1200 pixels) display and Windows 8.1. The Livepad 8.9 was recently on promotion at Plaza Low Yat for just RM699 with a free bluetooth keyboard (complete with trackpad) and casing worth RM199 for 500 early-bird buyers. Unfortunately, all of these keyboard and casing promos have already been snapped up. The RM699 offer is still available for buyers at www.iclickz.com while stocks last (as of the time of writing, they still had stock) but after this the tablet is expected to retail at RM799.
