The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) is currently studying and evaluating the available options to ensure the 5G implementation will be expanded throughout Malaysia. Moreover, the Ministry is expected to announce the introduction and implementation of 5G by Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) with added features by the end of March 2023.

The Minister of Communications and Digital (KKD), Fahmi Fadzil has revealed that a whopping 1.8 billion scam calls have been blocked by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) from 2017 to 2022. Furthermore, a total of 300 million scam messages via SMS were also blocked since 2018.

The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) has revealed that almost RM600 million in losses were recorded in 2022 due to scams and other cyber crimes in Malaysia. Hence, the ministry will focus on educating the public to be more digitally literate and not become victims.

The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) has revealed that 350 telecommunications towers nationwide that had been affected by floods since 2014 have been upgraded. The upgrading works were done through the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

The viral message alleges that RM900 will be credited to Bantuan Warganegara Malaysia (BWM) recipients via their Touch ’n Go eWallet, which is nothing but a front for a phishing website.
