Vivo Malaysia recently launched their new Vivo X5Pro smartphone for RM1599. Featuring a full metal frame and 2.5D curved glass on the front and back the X5Pro also comes with a 13MP f2.0 camera with phase detection autofocus and sapphire lens. Other stand-out features include dedicated HiFi audio with a Cirrus Logic DAC AK4375 audio chip but like the previous Vivo X5Max, this is only discernible with headphones. Other tech specs include a 64-bit 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, dual SIM 4G LTE support, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, 5.2-inch FHD super AMOLED display, 8MP front camera and 2450 mAh battery. It will run Android 5.0 Lollipop right out of the box with vivo's FunTouch OS 2.1 and is available at all authorized dealers in Malaysia.

After some teasing, Lenovo has announced a new cameraphone called the Lenovo Vibe Shot. The device features a large 16MP BSI sensor with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and the world's first Tricolor (triple) LED flash. Moreover, the camera unit will have a six element lens with sapphire coating. The phone looks extremely well built, thanks to the premium aluminum chassis with a thickness of just 7.3mm. There is Gorilla Glass protection on both the front and the back. The company claims that the camera will produce excellent pictures even in low-light conditions. There will be an 8MP front facing camera too, ideal for selfies. Other tech specs include a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. There will be a 5-inch display at the front with full HD 1080p resolution. The phone supports dual SIM cards (both Nano SIMs) and is compatible with 4G LTE networks. There will be a 2900 mAh battery on board to power all the tech specs. Lenovo will release the Vibe Shot in all major countries for $349 (RM1285) and we expect a Malaysia release date by the end of the month.

Lenovo is rumoured to be coming out with at least 5 new smartphones for the upcoming MWC 2015 (which is set for just next week). These could include the Lenovo Vibe X3, Vibe S1, Vibe P1, Vibe P1 Pro, Vibe Shot and now the Vibe Max. Tech specs for the Vibe Max stand out somewhat as these are rumoured to include a 6-inch 2K or 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution display, fingerprint sensor, NFC and be the first Lenovo Android smartphone to support a stylus. Unfortunately, there are no details or leaked pics for the Vibe Max just yet, but it should follow the same rounded corners with metallic trim for most of the other Lenovo Vibe range or it could go for the layered design like the Vibe X2. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details but again, MWC 2015 is just next week. We shouldn't have to wait long to find out more.
