In a surprising turn of events, it seems that Maxis is apparently planning to sell its self-branded 4G smartphone soon?

According to Lowyat.NET, a forum member accidentally discovered the device, simply called “Maxis NeXT” on the telco’s official website and shared a number of screenshots.

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) recently measured the network performance and compliance to the Mandatory Standard for Quality of Service (QoS) of local broadband providers from January to November 2016. The report revealed that Maxis offers the fastest download speed throughout Malaysia while DiGi offers the least amount of lag.

Maxis recorded the fastest average download speeds in 5 out of 6 regions, though, in the central region(which covers Klang Valley and Negeri Sembilan), it was Celcom that has the fastest download speed. DiGi offers the quickest response time(Low average network latency), which basically meant "less lag" which is important in online gaming, streaming and teleconferencing.

During the month of August, Maxis and its media agencies built a brand new home for two Orang Asli families each at Perkampungan Orang Asli Serendah, Rawang, Selangor. Held in two separate sessions from 19-21 August and 26-28 August, more than 60 volunteers completed building the homes from the ground up, with guidance from building specialists provided by EPIC Homes.

Today, Maxis has announced that subscribers of SurfMore 50 and 75 will be getting an additional 2GB Internet data starting tomorrow (28 October) onwards. The change is free and it will be automatically updated permanently.
