Today, Facebook released a new statement about its performance this first quarter of the year. Besides talking about AI algorithm discovery, creators and monetization, the company also shared that it may bring back the Messenger app into Facebook like before.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has revealed that the company is in the midst of testing AI-powered tools for its products. These would include AI-powered chats on its messaging platforms, WhatsApp and Messenger.

Meta has announced a new feature on Instagram that should be familiar to Telegram users. Essentially Meta’s take on Telegram channels, Instagram users can expect to see a “broadcast channels” feature on the mobile app soon.

Facebook and Messenger recently announced the introduction of Community Chats, a feature that allows group organisers to create curated live Messenger chat groups similar to Discord. Through the feature, users can browse chats organised by announcements, topics, events and more instead of just relying on feed posts and comments.

Sadly, Meta has announced that the rollout of end-to-end encryption (E2EE) for Messenger and Instagram will get postponed to 2023. Therefore, it looks like there's still a long time to go before we get the highly demanded feature for the messaging services.

For most WhatsApp users, the Multi-device feature was the one that's worth noting in 2021. But business users are all hoping for a way to monetise the platform, and the company has been working on that for months. Now, we have some hints on ad creation for the platform.

Based on a tweet by Twitter user @alex193a, it seems that Facebook is currently working on Live Audio and Audio rooms which could be Facebook’s answer to Clubhouse. With that in mind, it may soon be possible for users to host their own private audio rooms similar to Clubhouse in the near future.
