Today, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) just issued a total fine of up to RM750,000 on five local telcos. The reason being is because of their prepaid SIM cards registration was not done properly without any verification on users information.

Recently at the government's meeting in the Malaysia Houses of Parliament, Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah said that they will be ready to launch 5G connectivity by the end of 2022 or early 2023. He stated that there would be no plans to launch until they have a clear and detailed plan for the objective.

Today, we saw an interesting tweet from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) about fake prepaid SIM card registration. Apparently, these fake prepaid SIM cards came from U Mobile, Celcom, Tune Talk, Maxis, YTL Communications and Tone Plus without verifying user information.

Yesterday, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) announced on their Twitter account that they will start surveying Malaysians soon starting on 5 June until 31 December 2020. The survey is said to be random appearing on WhatsApp and it is regarding the usage of mobile phones, e-commerce and consumer satisfaction rate on mobile broadband and mobile services.

In this short announcement, somebody has apparently been forwarding fake news about people being fined for stepping outside of their houses.
