    Malaysia has officially introduced a 10-year passport with a new rate of RM350 for citizens aged 18 to 59, effective after being gazetted through the Fees (Passports and Visas) (Amendment) Order 2026 on 3 June 2026. Here’s everything you need to know.

  • A Bursa Malaysia filing by Datasonic Group Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary Datasonic Technologies Sdn Bhd (DTSB) revealed that it has been given a contract extension for the supply of passport chips to the Immigration Department by the Home Ministry. DTSB has been given a 12-month extension from 1 December 2024 to 30 November 2025, with an additional contract value of RM104.78 million.

    Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail today revealed that Malaysians will soon have the option to apply for a passport with a decade-long validity. He added that the Immigration Department is ready to introduce a 50-page passport with double the validity period as it is currently, like the ones by other Southeast Asian countries.
