    OpenSignal reports that Yes and Maxis are leading in Malaysia's 4G LTE availability

    OpenSignal recently announced test results of Malaysia's 6 main mobile operators in terms of 4G signal availability and download speeds. The results point to Yes followed by Maxis leading the pack which includes Celcom, Digi, U Mobile and Webe.

    By now you should have known that Maxis 4G LTE is fully compatible with your Apple iPhone 5 and certain iPad models. To activate your LTE settings just do the following steps:


    1. Get your Carrier Update

    • Download the latest iOS (6.1.3 or higher). To update to the latest iOS tap Settings > General > Software Update.
    • Start the update. Tap Settings > General > About > Update.
    • Reboot the device. Make sure the Carrier is Maxis 14.1.

    Maxis 4G LTE Expanding Coverage to Penang and Johor Bharu in Q3

    In another aggressive push of their 4G LTE services, Maxis recently announced that they were expanding their LTE network onward and outward from the Klang Valley. These areas incude Penang and Johor Bharu. According to Maxis Joint Chief Operating Officer Mark Dioguardi, Maxis will offer their LTE services in Penang and Johor Bharu in Q3 of 2013. This means said areas will most likely get it sometime between July and September.

    Maxis recently confirmed what many Apple iPhone 5 and some iPad users in Malaysia are now finding out. Those who were on the Maxis 4G LTE plans now have LTE speeds for their devices. Maxis officially confirmed this recently along with an update of their new LTE coverage areas as shown below:
