Maxis today announced its all-new 5G Home WiFi plans which provide unlimited 5G connectivity for homes nationwide. Starting from just RM69 for 120GB of data, read on to find out more about the new plans.

Until recently, Maxis was the only major telco in Malaysia to opt out of the 5G Access Digital agreement with DNB (Digital Nasional Berhad). However, this changed last Friday when the company announced on Bursa Malaysia that it is finally seeking its shareholders' approval on this deal.

In conjunction with Maxis 25 years milestone in Malaysia and the upcoming Merdeka celebrations, Maxis announced their new brand purpose to Always Be Ahead. Embracing change and digitalisation the new brand purpose not only revealed their new initiatives moving forward, but also various promotions and deals for Maxis customers. 

These include RM25000 worth of App rewards for more than 200 deals including RM80 off at Lazada, up to 25% off domestic destinations at Malaysia Airlines and Firefly and the latest smartphones at RM25 each for 25 days. There’s also free 250 loyalty points worth RM375 for customers who sign up for the SME Digitalisation Grant. 

Maxis have just launched their new ‘Make It Through’ music video done in collaboration with local artists such as Faizal Tahir and Zee Avi. Part of its #KitaSapotKita campaign, it aims to raise funds for Malaysians during the MCO (Movement Control Order).

Huawei and Maxis signed an agreement today on the provisioning of 5G Networks in Malaysia. It was witnessed by Yang Amat Berhormat Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad, Prime Minister of Malaysia and was signed by Michael Yuan, Huawei Chief Executive Officer and Gokhan Ogut, Maxis Chief Executive Officer. Through the agreement Maxis hopes to achieve a robust 5G network with potential speeds reaching 10Gbps. 

In conjunction with this coming Merdeka, Maxis launched their #100peratusMalaysia campaign with a short video. Intending to highlight how our diversity works together to make us Malaysians all stronger, the video showcases Malaysian celebrities like Chef Wan, Datuk Santokh Singh, Deborah Priya Henry, Douglas Lim, Farah Ann Abdul Hadi, Marina Mahathir and Tiara Jacquelina through their DNA.

Maxis recently announced that they are ready for 5G by building an advanced and intelligent network they call the A.I. Network. It utilizes 5G-ready infrastructure over a fibre-optic footprint to mobile base stations across Malaysia. Utilizing Next-Gen IP network architecture, the A.I. Network will self-optimise data traffic and self-heal by anticipating and rerouting traffic around potential problem areas, ensuring lag-free Internet and Always On connectivity.
