Maybank has now announced that they will introduce a 12-hour cooling-off period, for each increase in the limit of money transfers through the Maybank2U site, effective July 31, 2024. This step is done in an effort to curb online banking fraud, as well as prevent fraud that will try to increase the transaction transfer limit.

If you have a Maybank account, you might want to pay attention to this news. Recently, Maybank announced that it will suspend some services on 9 March 2024. That said, what should you know about it?

Maybank has alerted customers that it will be undergoing a temporary system maintenance exercise on 14 January 2024 (Sunday). The maintenance will affect Maybank2u (web and app), MAE app and Maybank2u Biz (web and app).

If you are a new Maybank user, you ought to quickly activate Secure2u as soon as possible. According to Maybank's latest statement, all first-time Secure2u activations and activation on new devices will require activation through a Maybank ATM.

Maybank today announced that it has completed the migration from SMS OTPs to Secure2u for its online banking services. These include bill payments and DuitNow, FPX and IBG transactions.

If you haven't login your MAE app or the Maybank2u website yet, you'd be pleased to know that there is a new Kill Switch feature. It's a new security feature and just got rolled out today. 

Maybank recently announced support for DuitNow Request, an easy way to ask for money from friends and family or request payments from business partners. With the new feature, Maybank2u web or MAE app users can easily send a DuitNow Request, with the payer only having to click ‘Pay’ to send the money.

Previously, we reported that Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) told banks in our country to migrate from OTP to more secure authentication. Today, Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) has pledged its commitment to the call and will fully replace OTP via SMS with its Secure2u authentication system by June 2023.

Maybank has recently announced that activation of its secure verification feature Secure2U will be permanently moved from the M2U MY app to the MAE app. The bank said that this is part of its continuous effort to safeguard customers’ online banking security.
