Microsoft has officially scrapped development of its Xbox Copilot AI, marking a significant shift in its gaming strategy under new leadership. The decision was confirmed by Asha Sharma, who has been leading a broader restructuring of the Xbox division since taking over earlier this year.

Microsoft has announced a major update to Xbox Game Pass, introducing price reductions across key tiers while making a significant change to how blockbuster titles are released on the platform. This even includes the Xbox PC Game Pass in Malaysia, which is back to RM20 per month from RM25 per month last year.

As reported before, Microsoft did indeed announce a major layoff this July. In another significant round of restructuring, the company plans to lay off up to 9000 employees, marking its fourth wave of job cuts this year.

As a friendly reminder, Microsoft already announced that its Authenticator app will discontinue the ability to autofill passwords starting in July 2025. You can still access the app in Malaysia, but if you're using it, you ought to transfer all your saved passwords.
