    Google announces Android 5.0 Lollipop

After months of wondering what L starting dessert would be used for the next Android L, Google have finally and officially announced Android 5.0 Lollipop. Unlike previous updates, there are a number of huge upgrades to the mobile operating system and this includes a flatter Material Design look and feel and a new 64-bit compiler. Notifications are now floating in a Google Now-like card based system and they are both actionable as well as drop down. The 64-bit compiler will move from the previous Dalvik compiler to a more efficient ART compiler, which promises equal performance across all types of processors. The new ART compiler also promises nearly double the performance for some systems resulting in faster load times and performance along with support for larger than 3GB of RAM.

64-bit Samsung smartphone benchmarked, reveals Snapdragon 410 processor

The age of 64-bit smartphones is upon us as a Samsung smartphone featuring the model number SM-G510F was recently seen at GFXBench packing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 which is one of the new range of 64-bit processors and chipsets from Qualcomm. These tech specs include a 4-inch display with 540 x 960 pixel resolution, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The benchmark reveals performance on par or better than the Motorola Moto G, which could indicate this is a smartphone meant for the masses and not the midrange. Motorola Moto G LTE officially announced from $219 (RM706)

Following the OPPO R1s, the Motorola Moto G is also getting a 4G LTE refresh with the official announcement of the Motorola Moto G with 4G LTE. So far, there aren't any plans to name this version any differently than the existing Moto G, but it will come with some additional tech specs and features. The most notable of these is support for 4G LTE along with support for up to 32GB of microSD flash memory. The pricing for the Motorola Moto G with 4G LTE is also different and is set at $219 (RM706). No news on Malaysia release dates or pricing just yet, but we expect this smartphone to appear soon, or at least in the coming weeks. The original Moto G is expected to continue being sold for more or less the same price tag.

Rumours: Motorola Moto E pics and tech specs appear?

Coming courtesy of a retailer in Brazil, the Motorola Moto E has been more or less confirmed, complete with leaked tech specs and pictures. Again, there isn't much mention of any pricing but many are expecting it to be less than the Motorola Moto G which at around RM625 is already quite affordable for the tech specs it offers. No news on Malaysia release dates but with both the Motorola Moto G and Moto X already available, it seems like just a matter of time until Malaysia also gets the Moto E as well. Check out the tech specs and pictures below:

  • Motorola Moto X officially coming to Malaysia for RM1499

Motorola Moto X officially coming to Malaysia for RM1499

Motorola's line of Moto smartphone like the Moto G and the Moto X have been designed to offer the best optimized performance despite rather lower-end hardware which is why it is great news that we'll soon be getting both here in Malaysia. The Motorola Moto X Malaysia pricing will begin from RM1499 which is a great price considering the 10MP Clear Pixel camera and Always On feature. Too bad there probably won't be Moto Maker customization but we hope that the wooden back casings will make it here somehow. No exact Malaysia release dates were available but stay tuned for more information.

  • Rumours: Motorola Moto E, Moto G LTE and Moto G Ferarri coming?

Rumours: Motorola Moto E, Moto G LTE and Moto G Ferarri coming?

While it may be one of the most affordable smartphones around, the Motorola Moto G has one large shortcoming in that it can't support LTE. However this may change as rumours indicate a Moto G LTE and Moto G Ferrari could be coming soon. Tech specs for the Moto G LTE should not differ too much from the Moto G but it could see a higher pricing of $260 (RM844) with a possible release date in Mexico sometime in June 2014. The Motorola Moto G Ferrari on the other hand could just be a Moto G with Ferrari colours (red and black) and branding but this should be cool as well.
