So it's official, Lenovo has announced 6 September 2016 as the day to unveil the all new Motorola Moto Z in China. This is was confirmed on Weibo by Lenovo’s Mobile Business Group co-President, Chen Xudong. The Moto Z is said to be the world's thinnest flagship, coming with 5.2mm thickness along with 5.5-inch AMOLED display (2K resolution).

We have seen the Motorola Moto Z being the darling of tech blogs around the world, but then fans of the Moto X should be happy - it is not dead. In fact it just received certification in China. An entry to the China Compulsory Certificate (CCC) hints that the next Moto X is near.

Smartphones are getting thinner and thinner by the day. The latest thin smartphone is the Motorola Moto Z, which has a thickness of only 5.2mm. The biggest nightmare of thin smartphone is the dreaded bend test – so does the Moto Z lives up to the test?

If you are looking to get yourself the new Motorola Moto Z and perhaps one of the Moto Mod add-ons for the phone, you may want to start your money collection from now. If the price from Verizon is indicative of global prices later on, the Moto Mods will be expensive.  

One of the more cool ideas that has popped up from the mobile industry – modularity is now set to be mainstream thanks to the introduction of the Motorola Moto Z. A new teaser image of what is believed to be a Moto Z, was seen in Weibo posted by Lenovo (they are acquired by Motorola just in case you didn't know) and it seems that they are planning to launch a new Motorola flagship smartphone.

Not only the phone to be made out of metal, the back cover looks to be interchangable, making customizing the Moto Z a breeze.  

We have discovered that the upcoming model from Motorola will be called the Moto Z, and there seems to be a peculiar connection system at the back of the phone – two rows of 8 connection points. Many has speculated on what this is, and a report online has shown what it is for – it will be for a new range of accessories called MotoMods. 

According to a recent filing made to the regulatory bodies in the United States, the next Motorola model may just be called the Moto Z. This is after a report online saying that the Moto X brand will be terminated.
