Recently, our country’s contact tracing app, MySejahtera has been embroiled in controversy over its ownership. This is after the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) questioned the takeover of the app my MySJ Bhd from KPISoft Malaysia Sdn Bhd, which developed the app without a contract with the Malaysian government.
Despite Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin reassuring Malaysians on Monday that the app is owned by the government and that users' personal data are safe, it seems that many are still sceptical. This can be seen by the 26% drop in daily MySejahtera check-ins on 28 March 2022.

While the COVID-19 cases dramatically increased in the past few weeks, the Malaysian Medical Association suggests that the QR code scanning feature that we use to check into places is no longer helpful. The president, Dr Koh Kar Chai, also said that it might be time to consider taking down the feature from the MySejahtera app.

Just a few hours ago, there was an important announcement by the MySejahtera Facebook page and the Ministry of Health Malaysia regarding those who had taken the Sinovac vaccination. Starting from 1 April 2022, the vaccination status will be "Partially Vaccinated".

MySejahtera, the mobile application developed by the Malaysian Government to facilitate contact tracing has assured Malaysians that there would not be any administration of a fourth Covid-19 vaccine dose as of right now. Furthermore, users are also advised to disregard any vaccine appointment links if they have already been fully vaccinated.
Taking to its official Facebook page, MySejahtera addressed the confusion surrounding Covid-19 vaccine appointment links received by the app users recently. Some received the link even though they have already gotten the Covid-19 vaccine as well as its booster dose.

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has revealed that 34.4% of the adult population in Malaysia has yet to get the Covid-19 vaccine booster dose. That amounts to approximately 7.5 million people in our country.
Furthermore, out of the number, Khairy said that 2.1 million are recipients of the Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine and another 835000 are senior citizens. He then urged the two categories above to take the booster dose by 1 April 2022 or risk losing their ‘fully vaccinated’ status in MySejahtera.

Speaking of which, one of the more intriguing aspects of the update other than the Face ID Mask Unlock is Apple’s integration of Covid-19 vaccination certificates into Apple Health and Apple Wallet. In the footnotes of the iOS 15.4 update, it is stated that Apple Health can now support EU Digital Covid-19 Certificate which enables you to download and store verifiable versions of Covid-19 vaccination, lab results and recovery records.

Sinovac recipients without booster shots to lose 'fully vaccinated' status on MySejahtera by 1 March
