Not exactly a new app, but we bet you have never heard of this one before. The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has introduced a new digital tool designed to help users better understand and improve their internet experience. Called MCMC Nexus, the app allows consumers to test internet speed and monitor network performance in real time across different locations in Malaysia.

Running silently in the background, WebSHIELD offers real-time protection against phishing, malware, and fast-moving scams, all powered by Cisco’s global threat intelligence.

CIMB recently issued an important alert for debit cardholders: its myDebit network will briefly go offline this weekend for scheduled maintenance.  The affected time slots are: 16 and 17 August (Saturday and Sunday) at midnight until 8 AM and 5 AM, respectively.

Today, The Edge reported that U Mobile has agreed to sell its entire 100,000 shares in Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) for RM100,000. The shares will be acquired by CelcomDigi, Maxis, YTL Power International, and the Minister of Finance Inc (MOF Inc), according to filings with Bursa Malaysia.

Today, Maxis announced a major expansion of its fibre network infrastructure through deployment in Penang. The company's new target goal is to connect more than 100,00 homes in the state by 2027, rolling out across all districts such as Jelutong, Georgetown, Batu Maung, Bayan Lepas, and Bayan Baru, alongside key locations in Mainland Penang.
