Nokia X now available in Malaysia for RM399

As reported earlier, the Nokia X has reached Malaysia with a launching today for the first of Nokia's Android-powered smartphones. Priced at RM399, the Nokia X targets the entry-level to midrange with the aim to bridge the gap between the Nokia Asha featurephones and the Nokia Lumia smartphones. Tech specs and features for the Nokia X include a 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB storage + 32GB microSD, a 4-inch display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution, a 3MP rear camera and dual-SIM support. The design looks like a standard Lumia or Nokia Asha 500 but what is making most users excited is the fact that you can use Android apps, Nokia Apps and Microsoft services from a single device. That being said, the Nokia X gets all of it's officially supported apps from the Nokia Store, but you can download and install Android apps without too much trouble. There may be some issues with compatibility but most apps should work. The Nokia XL is expected in the coming months but the Nokia X+ may not come to Malaysia at all. Stay tuned for more updates.

Nokia has finally released their Lumia Black update for various Nokia Lumia smartphones. • Rumours: First dual-SIM Nokia Windows phone leaked, codenamed Moneypenny

Rumours: First dual-SIM Nokia Windows phone leaked, codenamed Moneypenny

While some Nokia codenamed devices have been shot down, others seem to be on the rise as the Nokia Moneypenny, looks to be coming out soon. The Nokia Moneypenny appears to be Nokia's first dual-SIM Lumia smartphone, as the leaked screenshot of the device shows two SIM cards active with 3G running on both SIMs. Other tech specs and features include the fact that the leaked image, coming courtesy of evleaks, matches a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution when enlarged. This could mean that the Moneypenny would have a 720p display. It is also likely that the smartphone could be called the Nokia Lumia 630. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any other available details like Malaysia release dates or pricing, but stay tuned and we'll keep you updated.

  • Rumours: 5.2-inch Nokia RM-964 smaller version of the Lumia 1520?

Rumours: 5.2-inch Nokia RM-964 smaller version of the Lumia 1520?

Reports have appeared claiming that a new 5.2-inch Nokia Lumia device could be on the way soon with tech specs and features very much like the Nokia Lumia 1520. The device goes by the codename of Nokia RM-964 and could come with the aforementioned 5.2-inch display with full HD pixel resolutions, a 20MP PureView camera and a Snapdragon 800 processor. Many are speculating that this could be the international version of the Nokia Lumia 929which is exclusive to Verizon in the US. While the tech specs above do make it sound interesting, it would be even better if Nokia somehow manage to slim down the device even further and add on the four HAAC microphones available on the Lumia 1520.

Nokia Guru Bluetooth headset could be called BH-121 Touch, maybe coming in December 2013?

One of the accessories supposedly due for release back during the initial teasing period for the Nokia World Dubai event was the Nokia Guru Bluetooth headset. Apparently, the cyan blue coloured acessory may be called the BH-121 Touch with added NFC functionality. The BH-121 Touch features the ability to connect to your Lumia smartphone and stream music via Bluetooth to the attached earplugs. The NFC function will let you pair the device with just a Touch while the volume rocker will let you control the volume without having to pull out your paired Lumia. According to reports, the BH-121 Touch will arrive in mid December 2013 along with the Nokia Lumia 525. While there aren't any specific Malaysia release dates or pricing, we should see it soon afterwards.

One of the first few Nokia phablets available, the Lumia 1520 packs in tech specs which include a full HD 6-inch screen with a very good pixel density of 367ppi. An excellent 20MP PureView camera rounds up the package with 3x lossless zoom, optical image stabilization, oversampling and refocusing. • World's most popular Windows Phone refresh is here, Nokia Lumia 525 officially announced

World's most popular Windows Phone refresh is here, Nokia Lumia 525 officially announced

The world's most popular Windows Phone was originally the Nokia Lumia 520 because it combined good features with an exceptionally low price. Now, the refresh for this smartphone is finally here in the form of the Nokia Lumia 525. Looking exactly like the Lumia 520, the Lumia 525 bears nearly the same tech specs as well which includes a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 4-inch IPS display, 8GB storage and 5MP rear camera. The only difference seems to be that the Lumia 525 comes with 1GB of RAM compared to the 512MB of RAM inside the Lumia 520. Malaysia release dates and pricing are still unknown but Singapore will get the Lumia 525 on 14 December 2013 at SGD249 (RM641) so we can expect a similar pricing and release date for Malaysia. Hopefully the pricing won't be as high as Singaporre or else the Lumia 525 may lose it's competitive advantage. Check out the Nokia site for more information. In the meantime, check out the Nokia Lumia 525 video in this article.

Nokia Normandy and unnamed Asha leaked

The Normandy has landed, or at least the Nokia codenamed Normandy smartphone has. Appearing courtesy of evleaks along with a still unnamed Asha phone, the Normandy looks like another Lumia smartphone that could be bridging the gap between the Asha range and the Lumia range. The unnamed Nokia Asha phone on the other hand looks a lot like an LG Vu 3, complete with square-like 4:3 display. Unfortunately, no tech specs, pricing or Malaysia release dates were available at the time but stay tuned and we'll keep you posted.
