Rumours: 4.7-inch Nokia Lumia 625 leaks out

When rumours first came out that Nokia would be working on larger screen devices, many industry watchers were predicting the next run of Nokia phablets and the like. Perhaps testing the waters for these larger models would be the Nokia Lumia 625 which recently got certified in China with a screen size of 4.7-inches. Tech specs for the Nokia Lumia 625 include:

    • 1.2GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor
    • 512MB RAM
    • 4.7-inch screen (480 x 800 pixel resolution)
    • 5MP rear camera (LED flash)

  • Nokia Teases Next Big Launch Late 2013

Nokia Teases Next Big Launch Late 2013

While it hasn't been all that long since the Nokia Lumia 1020 launch, Nokia seem to be prepping or teasing for another major launch. The direct comment from Nokia's Stephan Elop was "next major launch" and came up during the Q & A session for the Nokia Lumia 1020. The Nokia head didn't reveal anything else such as what was going to be revealed or when, just that it would be a major launch and not an incremental model version like the Nokia Lumia 928 and 925 were for the Nokia Lumia 920. While this doesn't mean we shouldn't look forward to a waterproof Nokia Lumia 1025 or interchangeable lens Nokia Lumia 1028 it does seem to indicate that a completely new Nokia product is waiting in the wings.

    See Nokia's Internal Torture Tests!

Last time we got a peek at Samsung's internal testing for their smartphones, so this time around we have some internal testing and quality control from Nokia. Like all the other smartphone makers Nokia does tumbler testing, heat testing, water testing and other forms of endurance testing. Check it out for yourself below but do note that the testing is only for Nokia Asha phones so if you're hoping for a Lumia torture test you're out of luck.

FIFA 13 released for Nokia Lumia Users Only

Nokia Lumia users rejoice (and probably Nokia Asha users too) Microsoft have released FIFA 13 exclusively for the Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 platform. The new FIFA 13 boasts much better graphics, sharper controls and about 500 licensed teams that can fight in 20 leagues. The resulting 15000 players you can choose from is massive for just a mobile phone game and there are now 32 real-world stadiums available to play in.

Nokia EOS (Lumia 1020) Shots and Mobile Photo site Appear

With the upcoming reveal of the Nokia EOS or Lumia 1020 being just tomorrow, a number of leaked images, shots and a video of the cameraphone have surfaced. This includes sample pics which were taken using the cameraphone (identified through the pictures EXIF data), new images of the Lumia 1020 in yellow and a whole bunch of others. This also includes a new web site focusing on mobile photography. The site can be accessed here and offers photography news tips and tricks using the Nokia Lumia 920, Nokia Lumia 925 and Nokia Lumia 928. The Nokia Lumia 1020 will probably be added as well after it's reveal on Thursday.

  • Rumours: Nokia EOS Going by Lumia 1020

Rumours: Nokia EOS Going by Lumia 1020

While it still hasn't been released yet another rumour has appeared about the Nokia EOS, Nokia's upcoming cameraphone. Rather than be called the Nokia EOS (which does give it sort of Canon digital camera like sound to it) the cameraphone may soon be called the Nokia Lumia 1020. This rumour comes courtesy of evleaks who has more often than not revealed fairly accurate leaks. They also revealed a press shot quality render of the upcoming Nokia Lumia 1020, although it didn't show the most important part, the rear of the smartphone. So far only the 41MP PureView sensor has been confirmed for their Nokia Lumia 1020 but all should be made clear on 11 July 2013 when Nokia will likely reveal the cameraphone, or at least have 41 million reasons why you should want it. Stay tuned for further developments.

  • Rumours: Nokia Phablet getting Metal Casing?

Rumours: Nokia Phablet getting Metal Casing?

A number of metallic casings for a Nokia phone have surface recently and while they initially looked like the upcoming Nokia EOS, a closer look reveals that it may not be. While there is a raised camera hump like the Nokia EOS, it looks too small to fit earlier leaks of the Nokia EOS's massive 41MP PureView sensor. Lining up the chassis with a Nokia Lumia on the other hand reveals that metallic chassis could be for the rumoured Nokia Phablet as the chassis is much larger compared to the standard Nokia Lumia size.

  • Nokia set to Reinvent Zoom on 11 July

Nokia set to Reinvent Zoom on 11 July

While there have been rumours and leaks nothing beats an actual event, which is what Nokia has done by sending out invites to an event on 11 July 2013 in New York. In the teaser invite, it mentions "Zoom. Reinvented". This could be a direct dig at the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom which was recently officially announced and that Nokia are finally going to release their rumoured EOS cameraphone. The Nokia EOS has already been leaked many times and will likely be the Nokia 808 PureView successor, complete with larger than average camera hump on the back.
