  • OPPO N3 officially announced, motorized automatic rotateable 16MP camera included

OPPO N3 officially announced, motorized automatic rotateable 16MP camera included

After months of teasing images and videos, mostly from OPPO themselves, the OPPO N3 has officially been announced. Featuring an automatic (as in self-tracking) motorized rotateable 16MP camera that rotates with the subject at hand the OPPO N3 is the latest flagship smartphone from OPPO. In terms of design, it looks like a mish mash of the OPPO Find 7 and the OPPO N1 with an in between sized 5.5-inch display. The main highlight of the OPPO N3 remains the camera though as the 16MP sensor is 1/2.3" large with a 1.34 micrometer pixel size, so you can get great low-light shots. IT also uses Schneider Kreuznach lens and utilizes the same photostitching feature for 64MP panorama shots. The camera also features slow shutter, ultra macro mode, after focus, RAW support and a new O-Click remote control.

  • Rumours: OPPO N1 mini and R1L coming to Malaysia soon?

Rumours: OPPO N1 mini and R1L coming to Malaysia soon?

After having revealed their OPPO Find 7 and Find 7a flagship smartphones, OPPO Malaysia has been relatively quiet, perhaps because they've been working on new things. These new devices could include the OPPO N1 mini (which was recently announced in China) and the OPPO R1L. Both smartphones were recently found in SIRIM's database as the OPPO N5116 for the N1 Mini and the OPPO R8006 for the OPPO R1L. Tech specs for the two smartphones are quite similar but the more notable features for the two include 4G LTE connectivity, a feature which wasn't available in OPPO's first wave of smartphones for Malaysia.

  • OPPO R6007 smartphone officially announced, could be the Find 7 mini

OPPO R6007 smartphone officially announced, could be the Find 7 mini

Joining the recently announced OPPO N1 mini is a still unnamed smartphone announced as the OPPO R6007. Featuring a 4.7-inch display with just 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, the shape looks similar enough to the OPPO Find 7 to come to the conclusion that it may be the OPPO Find 7 mini. Other tech specs include a 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB storage, 8MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front camera and a 2140 mAh battery. It will also support 4G LTE and run on the latest colorOS 1.4. Measuring in at 127 x 68 x 7.75mm and weighing 128g, the R6007 will be available in China from 3 June 2014 for 1799CNY (RM926). No news on Malaysia release dates or pricing but stay tuned and we'll keep you posted.

  • OPPO N1 mini officially announced, coming on 11 June 2014 in China with 4G LTE

OPPO N1 mini officially announced, coming on 11 June 2014 in China with 4G LTE

After a few weeks of leaked images and rumours, we can finally confirm that the OPPO N1 mini is both real and officially announced. Featuring a slightly smaller 5-inch display and only a single LED flash, the smartphone retains the same 13MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and rotateable hinge as the OPPO N1. However, it brings a number of new innovations that the former flagship OPPO N1 did not, and this includes 4G LTE connectivity, Color OS 1.4 and an extra feature that may allow it to capture 24MP images (something like the OPPO Find 7's 50MP image capture). Unfortunately we can't confirm other tech specs and features yet apart from the facts that it weighs 150g and will be available in China on 11 June 2014. No Malaysia release dates or pricing just yet but stay tuned as it is only a matter of time before OPPO makes another reveal, either in Malaysia or at the upcoming Computex Taiwan 2014.

Coming to the Malaysian market, the OPPO Find 5 mini slots in nicely between the OPPO R1 and OPPO NEO smartphones both in terms of tech specs and features along with pricing. Going for the same slim design as the other two smartphones, it offers features that should make it well-suited for the entry-level to midrange user. Does it suit your needs and purposes? • Rumours: OPPO N1 mini and OPPO N2 coming soon?

Rumours: OPPO N1 mini and OPPO N2 coming soon?

While OPPO have already announced their flagship smartphone with the OPPO Find 7, they are currently refreshing their existing range of devices including the recent 4G LTE enabled OPPO R1s. Therefore, a new rumour that OPPO could be working on an OPPO N1 mini and OPPO N2 smartphone does sound rather believable. The rumour indicates that the new OPPO N1 mini will have tech specs which include an Octa-core MT6592 processor or other octa-core processor, 5-inch screen and a version for 3G and 4G connectivity. While the camera details have not been confirmed, we assume that the 13MP camera sensor will be retained along with the N1's rotateable camera hinge. The rumours don't say much else about the OPPO N2 however, just that OPPO are currently working on it. As usual with such rumours, do remember to take this with a pinch of salt and disbelief. No news on Malaysia release dates or pricing but we hope that it will be significantly lower than the currently priced OPPO N1.

  • OPPO Find 7 and Find 7a launched in Malaysia at RM1998 and RM1598

OPPO Find 7 and Find 7a launched in Malaysia at RM1998 and RM1598

OPPO Malaysia have officially launched the Find 7 and Find 7a smartphones in Malaysia. Notable tech specs and features on the OPPO Find 7 include a 5.5-inch screen with 2K or 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and a 50MP camera mode (which is basically many shots using the 13MP rear camera that are then combined for extra quality).  As was mentioned in our earlier report on the international launch of the two smartphones, the Find 7a is the lower-end version, but even then the tech specs on this smartphone are still top-notch, on par with many other flagship smartphones currently in the market. In their guess the price contest, OPPO Malaysia revealed the pricing for the OPPO Find 7 at RM1998 while the OPPO Find 7a will be offered at it's pre-order price of RM1598.
