    Maxis to invest its fibre network expansion across all Penang districts

    Today, Maxis announced a major expansion of its fibre network infrastructure through deployment in Penang. The company's new target goal is to connect more than 100,00 homes in the state by 2027, rolling out across all districts such as Jelutong, Georgetown, Batu Maung, Bayan Lepas, and Bayan Baru, alongside key locations in Mainland Penang.

    The Penang State Government has annuonced that government services in the state will go 100 per cent cashless by the year 2030 in an effort to realise its digital transformation agenda. Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow elaborated that the State Government would intensify efforts to introduce cashless initiative soon, especially in major tourist hotspots.
