The Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (K-KOMM) has announced that students who have had their applications for the PerantiSiswa Keluarga Malaysia programme rejected can appeal the decision in writing or meet directly with local leaders. Its caretaker minister, Tan Sri Annuar Musa said that the students can meet with local leaders for endorsement because there are several factors that K-KOMM can consider if they do not qualify.

He added that the programme has received a very good response from students, with most of them grateful for the “latest higher-capacity model”.

Furthermore, distribution for the PerantiSiswa tablets under the programme is currently being actively arranged.

The Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad today gave an update regarding the PerantiSiswa Keluarga Malaysia programme, revealing that a total of 97,635 applications have been approved. During her speech at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) today, Noraini said that all of the approved applications were from phase one of the programme.

The Minister of Communications and Multimedia Tan Sri Annuar Musa has revealed that 60 per cent out of nearly 100,000 applications for the first phase of the PerantiSiswa Keluarga Malaysia programme have been approved by his ministry. As for the remaining 40 per cent, they will be further reviewed, including appeal cases to ensure that only those eligible will receive the aid.

Furthermore, the ministry also today revealed the device chosen for the programme, which is the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8.
