It's been two weeks since the Proton e.MAS 5 was launched. As Malaysia’s First Affordable EV, it continues to spark strong interest nationwide, with over 10000 bookings collected. At the same time, the Proton e.MAS 7 continues its reign as the No. 1 EV Model in Malaysia for 10 months.

After weeks of teasers, Proton has officially launched its highly anticipated Proton e.MAS 5, marking a bold new chapter in Malaysia’s electric vehicle (EV) landscape. As the country’s first truly affordable EV, the e.MAS 5 is available in two variants: the Prime and Premium, at a starting price of RM56800.

Malaysia’s national carmaker Proton has fully revealed its upcoming electric hatchback, the Proton e.MAS 5 — unveiled early ahead of the official launch on 30 October 2025. As a reminder, the official price is not revealed yet, but the estimated local pricing is from RM60000 to RM80000.

It was only two days ago when bookings for the e.MAS 5 were opened by Proton. Today, PRO-NET, a wholly owned subsidiary of PROTON, has announced it has achieved a staggering 1607 bookings within just 24 hours of opening for reservations on 4 October 2025.

During the weekend, Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (PRO-NET), a wholly owned subsidiary of national automaker PROTON, officially opened bookings for the all-new Proton e.MAS 5, positioning it as Malaysia’s most affordable electric vehicle.

Set to be “Malaysia’s most affordable EV”, Proton have announced that their slightly smaller EV or Electric Vehicle, the e.Mas 5 is for official booking on 4 October 2025. This will be kicked off from their Facebook page at social media at what some say will be below RM85K pricing.

Proton New Energy Technology (PRO-NET), a subsidiary of PROTON, is pulling out all the stops to build buzz around its second all-electric entry—the Proton e.MAS 5, touted as Malaysia’s most anticipated entry-level EV. The brand officially kicked off its MISI 5 Tour this August, a three-month nationwide roadshow designed to introduce the car in real-life settings before its full launch later this year.

Back in May 2025, PRO-NET, a subsidiary of Proton, unveiled its new PROTON e.MAS 5 as a new affordable compact EV for the Malaysian market. While there is no price tag yet, the EV was recently previewed under camouflage and is set for a Q4?2025 launch.
