Today, Proton, through its new energy subsidiary PRO-NET, has officially launched the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV in Malaysia. To recap, the model expands the Proton e.MAS lineup with a plug-in hybrid that prioritises electric driving for daily use while retaining hybrid flexibility for longer journeys, targeting Malaysian drivers who want electrification without range anxiety.

Last night, Proton officially opened bookings in Malaysia for the e.MAS 7 PHEV, marking the company’s first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle available for order. The announcement follows a 25-hour livestream drive covering more than 1100 km from Penang to Johor Bahru and back to the Proton Centre of Excellence via the North–South Expressway as a demonstration of the PHEV’s real-world durability and long-distance capability.
