Today, PRO-NET officially introduced the locally produced 2026 Proton e.MAS 7 in Malaysia. That's right, it is an updated e.MAS 7 for 2026, and what makes it different for this variant is being locally assembled while allowing the company to tailor specifications more closely to local driving conditions.

Proton’s electric push continues to gain momentum as the Proton e.MAS 7 secures a commanding 23.4% market share, solidifying its position as Malaysia’s No. 1 EV model for the sixth consecutive month in 2025.

Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (PRO-NET), a subsidiary of Proton, today announced several updates to the Proton e.MAS 7, Malaysia’s best-selling electric vehicle (EV). These include new exterior and interior colour options, as well as support for wired and wireless Apple CarPlay.

The Proton e.MAS 7 seems to be very popular in Malaysia. Back in February, over 4,000 bookings were made for the EV. Today, Proton is proud to announce that there are now over 5,500 bookings and more than 1,800 units delivered.

In our previous news, we reported Proton had extended the e.Mas 7's special launch package to 3,000 more customers. As of today (13 February), sources say there are now over 4,000 bookings and 80% of them belong to the Premium variant.

Today, PRO-NET, a subsidiary of PROTON has announced an extension of the special launch package for the Proton e.MAS 7. Due to the overwhelming response from Malaysians, PRO-NET will extend the launch package and RM4,000 price rebate to the next 3,000 customers.

After months of hype and anticipation from Malaysians everywhere, Proton today launched the Proton e.MAS 7, the company’s first EV and Malaysia's first national EV, to help kickstart the adoption of sustainable mobility in the country. Over the weekend, PROTON unveiled the interior of the Proton e.MAS 7 at the Auto Car Expo (ACE) 2024. On top of that, the company also finally opened bookings for Malaysia’s first national electric vehicle.

Today, Proton officially announced the name of the first model for e.MAS - the Proton e.MAS 7. It is a C-segment SUV and the company is planning to introduce the EV by 2025. However, no pre-order details are available at the moment.
