After the successful entry to the Japan market, Spotify is growing ever more in its presence online, and now they are said to be in talks to purchase Soundcloud, in a deal that could be around USD 700 million (~RM 2.9 billion).

How many times have you missed out on the latest single from your favourite music artist? Don’t fret, Spotify has a solution for you, the company is proud to present their brand new Release Radar, just for you.

Today, there is going to be two brand new audio series by Spotify – Secret Genius and AM/PM – both of which see renowned artists and producers talking exclusively to Spotify.

Is your Chinese New Year mood mode on yet? If not, maybe Spotify can assist you in that. Spotify has unveiled the top 10 most played songs across Chinese New Year-playlists around the world. Asian music experts have created so many playlists, that includes artists born in the Year of the Monkey, and festive classic favourites such as “????”, “????”, and “???”. 

“Great music always goes hand in hand with celebrations. As we welcome the Year of the Monkey, we’re delighted to reveal the songs that music fans all over the world enjoy during this wonderful season,” said Sunita Kaur, Managing Director, Spotify (Asia). “We’re looking forward to bringing you more of the hits you love through our carefully curated playlists that showcase the best of Asian and global favorites.”

Spotify for desktop recently offered a new update which brings several new features and improvements. These include a fully integrated lyrics engine powered by Musixmatch. To activate this feature click the Lyrics button while the song is playing. Other features include an improved Friend Feed to find out what your friends are listening to and daily viral charts for the latest and greatest tracks. Here's what they had to say about it:
