When Samsung released the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G, it was the first mid-range smartphone in Malaysia to come equipped with 5G capabilities for the price of RM1599. Not only that, but it also comes with a relatively powerful Snapdragon 750 chipset and a 5000mAh internal battery, which is not too shabby considering its price.

Just a couple of hours ago, Samsung Malaysia just silently launched a new smartphone on their Shopee online store platform. Called as the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G, this mid-range tier smartphone is priced at RM1599 and it may be the most affordable 5G device in the Malaysian market yet (even though 5G is not exactly live yet). Based on a statement by rootmygalaxy.net, it seems that Samsung could be planning on unveiling the Galaxy A42 5G smartphone in the Asian market very soon. While not much is known in regards to the actual release date, we have a good suspicion that it will most likely be unveiled on Thailand first before anywhere else.

With IFA 2020 underway, we're seeing more than a few new products being announced or launched in the last few days. In particular, Samsung had quite some new products to unveil at the event yesterday. Among them is the Galaxy A42 5G, which seems to be a variant of the Galaxy A41 that comes with 5G connectivity.
