A different take on Android smartphones is a fresh thing to have, and Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Folder 2 is indeed something different. Instead of the normal glass slab, we have the classic flip phone design, a rarity in this time and age.

The clamshells are coming back (sort off), and they will be powered by Android. Samsung’s policy of creating devices for just about every market is well known, and for the Chinese market, the Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 will be the second generation Android-powered clamshell from the manufacturer, according to new promotional images at least.

Do you remember the Samsung Galaxy Folder? Neither did we. It doesn’t stop Samsung from coming up with a sequel though. The Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 just received its TENAA certification from China, and It will be out in that market real soon.
