Following the release of the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime at the end of September, the younger brother - Galaxy J5 Prime was released by Samsung Mobile Malaysia today for a price of RM899. Below is the official specification of the device and some hands-on pictures we took:

Today, Samsung Malaysia Electronics is proud to present the latest member to join the Galaxy J Series family – the Galaxy J7 Prime. As previously rumoured, the smartphone is indeed priced at RM1199 (GST inclusive) and will come in White/Gold and Black. Designed to suit trendy lifestyles and bringing wefie-taking to the next level, below is the official specifications:

While the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime has yet to be officially announced, we've received info that it has started selling here in Malaysia for RM1199. In addition, our sometimes random but mostly accurate leakster Mr. Anonymous has returned, this time with hands-on pics of the Galaxy J7 Prime.

Not much went official this week except for Apple's iOS 10 update, while you can check out if your device supports it we also did a quick first impressions of it on the Apple iPhone 5. You can now officially pre-order your new Sony PS4 for Malaysia as well.

Samsung continues to ask that you send in your Samsung Galaxy Note 7, with only the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Malaysia release date announced. Most other notable news included closer looks at the Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus as they got torture tested and torn down alongside the Apple Watch Series 2.

Our serial leakster friend Mr. Anonymous recently sent over some interesting information concerning the rumoured Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime. Apparently it may be coming this month for an estimated price of RM1199. Upgraded tech specs over the Galaxy J7 (2016) include 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage but for a more detailed comparison check out our comparison tool.

The most interesting feature remains the fingerprint sensor that the Galaxy J7 Prime may have inside its home button as all of the Galaxy J (2016) phones lack that feature. No exact Malaysia release dates but stay tuned to TechNave.com and we'll keep you updated.

The Samsung Galaxy J family is well and alive in Malaysia, with the 2016 models recently launched locally. However we may see yet another model coming soon to the market, and it may have the moniker Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime.
