With the impending release of the next version of the Samsung Galaxy Note II, the price for the existing version has dropped from RM1999 to RM1799. This has resulted in a price drop for the phablet under telco plans and DiGi's current Samsung Galaxy Note II plans now starts from RM669. You'll need to sign up for the DG SmartPlan 58/88/148 under a 24 month contract but if you're a long-time DiGi Postpaid user (more than 12 months) you don't need to pay the advance payment.

It appears that the Samsung Galaxy Note II is also getting a refresh as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 powered version has made its way to China. Recently announced by China Mobile (which is the largest carrier in China) as the N7108D, the new version looks exactly the same as the old Samsung Galaxy Note II but has had a refresh in terms of the internal hardware. This includes FDD-LTE, TD-LTE and TD-SCDMA standards. The aforementioned chipset also upgrades the Mali 400 GPU with the much faster Adreno 320 while the 1.9GHz quad-core Krait 300 processor results in a benchmark that beats the older version with ease.

Maxis seems to be dropping prices on their smartphone bundles on a weekly basis as this week they revise their Samsung Galaxy Note II bundles so that you can buy one for as low as RM1149. Of course this means having to sign up for a contract under Maxis but this time Maxis are being a bit more flexible in terms of their contracts.

With Samsung churning out new models almost daily, it was bound to happen eventually and therefore DiGi has announced the Samsung Galaxy Note II at a very much decreased price with their new DG Smart Plan 88. When the Samsung Galaxy Note II first came out it retailed at a pretty high RM2299 so this price drop is a little bit more than RM1000 but according to DiGi you save about RM740 on the Galaxy Note II based on the retail price of RM1999. This savings is based on the DG Smart Plan 88 for a contract of 24 months.

For those of you who like a little bit more pink in your life, Samsung's Galaxy Note II pink limited edition version has arrived. In terms of Tech specs, this pink Samsung Galaxy Note II doesn't seem to have any other new features. Same 5.5" Super Amoled display, same S pen capability. At least the S pen that comes with this new pink version is also cotton candy coloured as well.
This new pink Samsung Galaxy Note II is available in Malaysia at most standard retail stores. However, just in case, give it a few more days for stock to arrive, but if you're determined to get your pink powered Samsung Galaxy Note II now, do head out for the larger Samsung stores and distributors for a better chance at snagging one.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Pros:
Feels good in the hand, can be used one-handed, has so many features it is impossible to explore all of them. Use is intuitive. It is esthetically pleasing. Reading text in "normal" mode is a cinch. Cameras work perfectly. Phone sound is great.
Large screen. super fast and responsive. Fills a niche that most manufacturers will not fill. I have a new ipad and a nexus 7 and i dont even bother to use those ever since i got my note 2. Really great phone all the way around.
